universitäts- und stadtbibliothek köln (2007)
This website wasn't actually created by me. I worked on it as a student assistent to earn some money during my university studies.
One of the major changes I accomplished was to make it accessible and to introduce the new corporate design of the University of Cologne.
Accessibility was an important requirement for this website as it belongs to a public institution. It involved converting it from a table layout to a CSS based layout and using semantic markup throughout the page.
Consequently having a cleaner separation of markup and presentation made it a lot easier to adapt the design to the new corporate design of the university. The prototypical implementation only took about one day and we were one of the first websites of the university (and actually one of the biggest) which adapted the new design.
